Book Review 1-08 [Stories of Snowmen]

The stories are anecdotes of snowmen. These characters are famous in Japan too. We can see them often in every Christmas season I think.

Then, this book has 3 chapters.

First, it is “Chilly and the bonfire” At the snow day, Jack made a snowman. He named it “Chilly”; he has black pebbles eyes, smiley mouth, and nose of carrot, yellow hat, and stripe scarf.
One day, Mr. Oats the farmer has the plan of Christmas party. There is much firewood for a bonfire of the party near Chilly. Jack looked forward to go to the party. But, the much firewood was vanished. Mr. Oats and Jack were surprised and sorry. At the night, Jack saw the unbelievable sight. Chilly the snowman was walking and taking away the firewood! Jack said, “You are alive!” Chilly said,” Of course, all snowmen come alive at night”
Chilly is the snowman. So, if there is a bonfire near him, he would have melted. “I see! Do not worry!” Jack said. They carried the logs to the middle of the field. Next day, the Christmas party was opened without accident.

Second chapter is “Snowy and Icy” Tomorrow is the Best Snowman Contest. Emma made her snowman, “Snowy” He had tiny eyes of stones, a moth-eaten woolly scarf, and a broken old walking-stick. Daphne lived next door. She was so rich, her “Icy” the snowman made be her 2 servants. He had sparkly buttons for his eyes and mouth, a spotted silk scarf, and a silver-topped cane. Daphne laughed Emma’s poor-looking Snowy.
At the night, Snowy went out to make he look better for Emma. Icy got in the way of Snowy, but all his plots were missed. On the contrary, Icy was collapsed because tumbled and corrupted.
Next day, Snowy won first prize!

Last chapter is “Freezy’s new buttons” Freezy has four small buttons. One day, the 2 men rushed along Freezy’s street. They are Stan and Lenny, they are robbers. Stan took 3 shiny stones from his bag and stuck them in Freezy’s chest. They stolen the 3 diamonds, and planed to hide them. Freezy did not know the situation, at the night, he walked at the street. There was a newspaper on the street, Freezy knew the fact of his buttons at the newspaper. He thought he would punish the robbers. They were arrested by Freezy and policemen. Next day, a policeman gave mind of gratitude and the gold medal for Freezy. That was even better than a button.


These stories were very interesting! First, the illustrations are very cute. Not only it, these stories have the important teachings.

Book Review 1-07 [Story of Robots]

This book has 3 stories about robots. They are written very cute by painter.

First chapter is the story of a boy and “clean robot” A boy is Luke. He is very lazy boy. One day, His mother gets angry Luke when looks his dirty room. He was said his mother, he must clean his room for a week from the time. He gets a free clean robot when his mother goes out. The robot’s name is Tidybot. The Tidybot needs remote controller. The robot cleans up by Luke’s instruction one after another. Luke is very happy because the robot does what he was said by his mother without his works. But, Luke broke Tidybot’s remote controller. Then, Tidybot go crazy! The Tidybot dirty Luke’s home one after another. After s minutes, The Tidybot was stopped. But Luke must clean all around his room. He was tired very much when finished to clean without his room, he got sleeping. So, his mother said when comes back home and looks his dirty room and sleeping her son, “You really are the laziest boy in the world!!”

This story tells to us, “Do clean” and “You must do yourself something about you” I understand.

Second chapter is story of a rascal and a gentle powerful robot. The robot’s name is “Jay C.B.” He has very strong power and a drill on his left arm, he can dig underground. One day, a rascal take sleeping Jay C.B. from his house. A rascal customs Jay C.B., he uses Jay C.B. for committing a robbery from underground. When Jay C.B. arrived at a vault and broke the door, an electric shock blasted Jay C.B. Then, he gets sane. There are many treasures in bags at the vault. Jay C.B. thought he gives tit for tat to a rascal. So, Jay C.B. secretly change the treasures for mad. A rascal was shocked because his strategy to robbery.

This story is quite delightful. Jay C.B. is very kind robot. I want a robot like him, and I want him to save to me!

Last story is “Robot racers” Squeaky the cleaning robot is main character. He was sweeping streets always, but he dislike is work. One day, Squeaky cleaning a street, the biggest robot in the town is splashed puddle. Squeaky was wet thorough. By the way, The big race will be hold in the town tomorrow. Tanktop the biggest robot in the town would win the race, everyone guess. At that night, Tanktop give some obstacles to other racers. For example, he gave Tine Turbo a puncture, stole Cyber Sid’s memory stick, undid Andi Droid’s battery pack, and reset Betty Byte’s built-in alarm clock. Next day, the racers are only Tanktop and Squeaky. In the race, Tanktop are many nuisances Squeaky. For example, he scatters about thumbtacks, oil, and punch Squeaky’s front wheel. The front wheel is off from Squeaky’s body and roll away! I guess you think winner is Tanktop. But, the winner is Squeaky! The reason is the front wheel was get goal early than tanktop!

It is very cute story. I think it is like “The story of rabbit and tortoise” in Japan.

This book is easy to read and I could enjoy writing the review!

Lunch time with my friends

I took the lunch at the coffee shop near KGU with Kaori and Tina. They are my school mates.

This is the meal when I ate at the time. There is the flavoring powdered chicken and laver on rice, and there are vegetable soup and salad. It was very tasty!

I took the lunch with them after a long time; I could enjoy talking each other!

Essay 5# The worst day in My life

My worst day in my life was a day of last summer. I am sure, it was August.

It was very heavy rainy day. I had to go to practice of student orchestra at Kumamoto University. The orchestra was making by students of Kumamoto University, Saga University, Nagasaki University, and KGU. I wanted to go to practice, but the front of my house was like a lake. The river was flooding by the heavy rain. My mother said, “Please don’t go to practice” But, I went to Kumamoto University because I wanted to play the bass.

My mother was amazed at my doing. My orchestra mates were same reaction. I am sorry for doing that time a little. I gave my mother trouble.

The practice was very good. There was famous conductor; I could have a desire to good at bass by his leading. We had a plan of concert at the prefectural theater. Then, everyone try hard to practice of own instruments. There were 1812(Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky), Маскарад(Aram Il'ich Khachaturian), Finrandia(Jean Sibelius) and so on in the concert's program. It was difficult for me, I needed many time of practice. I think now, I was practice hard at that time.

The Day was heavey rainy day, it was not stop at night too. I was stay my friend's house. My parents are stern a little, they don't allow me to stay other house. But, I could not go back to home, they allow to do so reluctantly.

I am sorry to my parents now too. I was selfishness too much I think. I do not want to give trouble to my parents flom this year. They are worried by my doing everytime. Because I ride a moped, and I am stupid a little.

It is the beginning of the rainy season now. I want to be careful to damage from a flood.

Music Festival

06/27/2009 was 42th KGU MusicFestival. I belong to the orchestra; our orchestra club took part in this concert. We played “My heart will go on”, “Diamonds”, and “Theme of Final Fantasy” with Mandolin club and guitar club.

To tell the truth, the result was no good I think because, we did not have enough the practice. Especially, Bass part was not fit own pitch. I want to practice with bass part mates. I know it is late if I say this thing. I want to practice more, I think strong owing to take in Music Festival.

Then, I could be friends many students in this concert!
I could see the other musical circle’s styles. It is good for me on my viewing of music I think.

Party

I have 2 parties this week.

First, it was party of my part-time job members. I could not drink alcohol, because I must go back home by my moped. I like “non-alcohol cocktail of mango and orange” very much. And, I like this salad.

This bar’s menu has very unique naming. For example “The risotto of lovers” That was shape of heart. It was very cute, and I thought the atmosphere was good.

Second, it was party of my best friends. I enjoyed with Tina, Ayumi, and Momo. This is farewell party for Momo. She goes to America during 2 months. I hope safety of her.
We ate pasta, pizza, and dessert. This is a plate of tiramisu and gelato with caramel sauce.


I have plans of party from now on. I think the number of party plans are grow recently.

Now, there are many works of flower at KGU’s student union building 1st floor. The works are made by the art of flower arrangement club members.

This is renewing after a long time

I did not renew this blog during long time. The reasons were job-hunting, part-time job, and I had a little sick. Then, I will write diary for this 2 week.

First, this is the story of my part-time job. At the time, there were the chief of cook, 2 cooks, 2 waiters, and me. I thought I fill up tea bags because leisure. I said “Someone, do you know where“tea bag”of maple tea is? Everyone said, “What?” “It is a kind of underwear!” “You are fool!”
Do you understand this situation and because of I was laughed? So, they thought “tea bag” is “tea pack” and “tea bag” is a kind of underwear. If we said “tea bag” in Japan, there is anxiety be guessed wrong. It is strange I think.
Sometimes, in Japan, Japanese-English is popular than real English.

Second, I found recently, I get cramp in my parts of body often. And, it is not only legs or arms. It is back of ears, the third finger of foots, shoulder and so on. I guess, I am very short of exercise. I hate the pain of cramp.

Third, I had a party at last Friday night. It was party of sub-leaders. I am sub-leader of Student council of rooters. I drank too much.

Last, I am in bad condition a little. I think I go to hospital; I can not go to there because I’m busy. I wish I have not some sick.

Essay#4 A memorable day in my life

I was born at 23. Feb. 1988. Naturally, I don’t remember the moment which I was born. But I think it was the most memorable day in my life.

At the time which my mother married my father, she was sterility. It was become clear because they could not have children three years later from the marriage. She was delicate by nature. The doctor said to her “I’m sorry, I think you can not have children” My parents felt down so much, I heard from her.

Then, why I am here? I asked her because of my birth. She said, “It was miracle” She continued the cure of sterility still she had me. It was very distressing; it was same with my father. But, one day, she became pregnant. My parents felt really happy, I heard. The doctor said “It is a wonder!”, but he said to her “You can not make a living like other expectant mothers. You must refrain from going out specially”

Well, it is start her living of a special pregnant woman. She took special attention in everything. For example, she could not go up and down the stairs, do not take exercises, but grow fat too much…etc. She entered hospital very early than other expectant mothers.

I was born by Caesarean birth. My relatives were glad to my birth. It is very happy for me, because it is a fact that there were people which wait me. My mother had scar on her belly, but she said she can even love it.

I am only child for my parents. My mother said she thought she wanted other children for me. But I think it was good, because the fact of I am only child for my parents is the thing of they are only mine.

Someone said, “When you were born, you were crying and everyone were smiling. Then, you must live your life that you will smile and everyone will cry when you will die” I think so too. I am thankful for my parents every my birthday.

23. Feb. 1988 is a memorable day in my life.

This is a parfait of caramel and chocolate ice-cream. It is very high calorie I think! I am in a slimming diet, but I can not stop to eat.

Music Festival is the concert of KGU’s musical circle. My orchestra club will appear it with the mandolin club and guitar club. We will play popular songs. We practice everyday for the day.

Book Review 1-06: [Folk Tales From Around the World #Book 5]

This book has the 5 stories.
-Cindererella
-Puss in Boots
-The Snow Queen
-Apple of Idun
-Aesop’s Fables

So, this is 3rd book that I read this serial. There are some stories that I did not know in this book. “Puss in Boots” is I know the story’s name only. Then, I can enjoy reading it. This is story of wise cat. But, the man who keeps the wise cat is happy at end by the cat.

I did not know about “Apple of Idun” This is a part of Norse mythology. Idun is a goddess of youth. If the apple of Idun is lost, the Gods will age, finally they will be died. This is a story over the apple and Goddess.

The serial has 1-5 books I guess. But there are no 1 and 2 books on the EIEN book shelf. I guess someone borrow these. I am look forward to return 2 books, and I want to read.

Book Review 1-05: [Folk Tales From Around the World #Book 4]

The book has a story that I like the best. It is “The little Mermaid” There are other stories in this book.
-The Pied Piper of Hamelin
-The Fire Bird
-The Steadiest the Solder
-Beer Rabbit and the Tar Baby
-Icaros

Then, this book has many explanatory notes at the bottom of each page. It is the point that reader can feel easy to read I think. There are some idioms. I think it is very useful to remember it.

Well, I moved by the story of “Icaros”. I know the story already, because I like reading the book of the Greek myths. And, there is the song about “Icaros” if I remember rightly.
I recommend you to read this story.
