Book Review02-08#The Jumping Frog

This is the first separate volume of Mark Twain. It was published 1867. He was writer of newspaper, he wrote funny short stories for newspaper.
This book has 3 chapters. There are “The celebrated jumping frog of Calaveras County”, “curing a cold”, and “Mrs. McWilliams and the lightning”. And there are many questions about each story.
This book is shape of problem novel. I did not like this style. I read this book for uncomfortable because there are questions between story to story.

Book Review02-07#Napoleon

This book is history of Napoleon.
He was French, and he was born in Corsica. He was a serviceperson and politician. He was very strong man; he defeated Europe except England after evolution of France. But he could rule over Europe only for 95 days.
I think Napoleon was very grate parson. I can’t know what his life is; I guess he felt fear always. He was killed by stomach cancer, but according to another theory, he was killed by someone. I want to research his history more when I read this book. But this book is difficult for me a little.

I did squabble with my boyfriend. Because of I was too selfish. I do not like myself when I say ill to somebody. But he was not angry. He heard me silently. He knew why I got nervous. He knew the best step to calm me down. He is younger than me but I can feel he is like my older brother when I am in some troubles. Surely, I made peace with him already!

Book Review02-06#Falk Tales from around the World 3

This book has 6 stories. There are The Bremen Town Musicians, Aladdin, The emperor’s new Clothes, Shakuntala, The Kangaroo and the Wombat, George and the Dragon in this book.
The Bremen Town Musicians was very funny story because 4 animals (donkey, dog, cat, and rooster) could not arrive at Bremen finally. And, they wanted to be musicians but they did not do music at last scene. It was written by Grimm bros.
Aladdin is one of the stories of Arabian Nights. I read and wrote a review on my blog already, I have not I should write about this story more.
The emperor’s new Clothes show abilities of self-decision I think. The king did fault because he could not decision himself.
Shakuntala is the story of India. This is like “Little mermaid” by Andersen a little. This is love story.
The Kangaroo and the Wombat is a folk story of Aborigine. This story showed because of shape of Kangaroo and Wombat. It is like Ant and grasshopper.
George and the Dragon is brave story in Roman. It is adventure of George, princess and a dragon. Finally, the dragon was killed by people. I think this story is like “Yamatano orochi” in Japan.

Pain...

I want to go to an orthopedic hospital because I feel pain at my waist. To tell the truth, I have the pain from 2 years ago. Maybe, I can think 2 causes about it. First, I play the contrabass. The contrabass is very big. I feel the strong load to my waist when I play it. Second, I have part time job. I must stand during about 5 hours. I think it is bad for my waist too.
I will go to an orthopedic hospital when I have enough time.

Book Review02-05#Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

This is very famous novel in the world. I have watched the movie in class of the history of American literatures. This novel was written by Mark Twain. He wrote the short stories for newspaper.
This story is very exciting, but I feel sad a little because of Jim. Jim is huckleberry’s friend. He is very kind and he is black person. He was in trouble because of it. There were 2 bad tricksters in the story; I like their characters because they were fool a little.
This story was written about discrimination of black people. Surely, Huckleberry, Tom, and Jim’s adventure was very fun but I can not stop to think about discrimination of black people.

Book Review02-04#Falk Tales from around the World 2

There are 5 stories, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, The White Serpent, The Ugly Duckling, and Perseus and Medusa in this book. I did not know The White Serpent still I read it.
Little Red Riding Hood is very famous fairy tale by Grimm bros. I think this story is like “a wolf and 7 young goats” In Little Red Ridding Hood, a wolf was cut his belly, and put stones into his stomach by a hunter. In A Wolf and 7 Young Goats, it is same. I think it is very unrealistic and it is very terrifying thing.
Jack and the Beanstalk is very famous too. But I don’t like this story because it is a story of pilferage. Jack was a thief only. The wife of ogre was good monster, but Jack killed her husband. Moreover, he stole many treasures. I don’t like this story.
I did not know The White Serpent before I read this book. This story was red in China. This story is strange a little. A beautiful man married with a beautiful woman. One day, a monk said “Your wife is not human. She is a monster of serpent! Try to drink alcohol your wife, you will know the fact!” A man was not believed but it was truth. The White Serpent killed her husband, but she was sad when returned to shape of woman. She went to get a mushroom of revive. There is a mushroom, but an old man stopped her. He was a god of longevity. She battled with him, she want to revive her husband. The god was moved her strong love, he allowed to take the mushroom. A man was revived by his wife. To tell the truth, she is not White Serpent. Her Obi(like a belt) was it. They had a boy, the family lived happily.
I like The Ugly Duckling. This story show “Great talents mature late” I think. But I like ducks better than swans because ducks is cute. I like to see the parade of ducks.
Perseus and Medusa is one of the Greek myths. Perseus was very bravery man. He battled with Medusa. Medusa was a monster. Perseus is very famous. His mother was caught by the bad king; He battled with monsters for his mother. I knew this story because I read a book of Greek myth when I was little child. I like the Greek myth because the stories have many dreams.

Book Review02-03#Falk Tales from around the World 1

This book has 5 stories. There are Snow White, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Hansel and Gretel, Three Little Pigs, and Pandora’s box in this book. All of the stories are very famous in the world. I guess my classmates have read these stories at least ones.
Snow White is very romantic story. “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of us all?” This word is very famous. I think this story was often acted by little children of kindergartens.
I did not know Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves till I read this book. I knew the name only. This story is a competition in ingenuity of Ali Baba and thieves. I knew the head of team is not success without wise subordinate.
I like Hansel and Gretel from when I was little child. Do you think there is dream in the house made from sugar, cookies, and cream? But, I think the father of Hansel and Gretel was very miserable. I think father should save own children from dangers.
I was become frightened when I read Three Little Pigs because this story was different with a story that I knew. In this story, 2 little pigs were killed by a wolf. I thought last scene is 3 little pigs win a wolf.
Pandora’s box is a secretly box. There are many sorrow, disease, disaster, murder, rape, war, and other terrible things in this box. Panodra was very beautiful lady. She was made by gods. There are many terrible things in the world because she opened the box.

Movie Review4#DRUMLINE

In NY, a boy graduated from high school. His name is Devon Miles. He had fantastic skill of drum, and he could get scholarship because of that. He loved his mother so much; they lived without Devon’s father through force of circumstances. His father loved music, Devon loved it too. He decided to be well at drum than his father.
Then, Devon entered A&T University. He got many friends of the marching band and a girlfriend, Laila. Devon got puffed up about drum. He believed he was the best in percussion part, and he was not serious to the unsparing practice. And Devon was a lone wolf and very irritable. He caused trouble with other university’s drum line. Dr. Lee the manager and Sean Taylor the leader of percussion part guided Devon strictly. First, Devon and Sean were on bad terms each other. Devon thought Sean was worse than him at skill of drum; Sean felt envy at Devon’s skill. Really, Devon could not read score. The thing was very big problem. He was fired from A&T Univ. marching band. But, it was Sean that helped Devon. He coached how to read score, and they thought new score for the band. It was very innovative arrange. Dr. Lee decided to use the score at next tournament of marching bands by Universities of South America. A&T University‘s rival were MB Univ. A&T University player classic music, but MB University played only famous pops for getting interest of audience. MB University’s manager believed own winning, but this year’s A&T was change by Sean and Devon. Devon could not take part in the game. But Dr. Lee and Sean asked Devon, “Take part to the final round of drum line!” After the heroic drum line, A&T University marching band was winning!

This movie is very interesting for me, because I played clarinet at marching band when I was junior high school student. I think percussion is very important position of the band. And, Devon, Laira, Sean were same years old with me. The thing was reason of I felt easy to watch too. I think the movie‘s view point were important of friendship and growing of Devon. Devon was not good boy at marching band, first. But, he could change because he could meet good manager, good leader, and good friends. A marching band is not good if there is an excellent player in the band.
I studied some important things from this movie. I want to remember this movie when I try to play with my orchestra member.

Book Review02-02#A LITTLE PRINCESS

This is very famous story in Japan because there was TV Drama of this story in Japan recently.
This story’s main character is Sara Crewe. First, she was born rich. But her father was died at a mine of diamond, she was poor suddenly. She was attended a boarding girls school. This school had rich students only; Sara was work at the school as a maid. Sara was annoyed by the principal and a part of students. But Sara was not flatter or loses. Finally, Sara was the princess again because her father’s friend took Sara along to his home. He has a big mine of diamond, and it was finding with Sara’s father.
It is very unbelievable story but it has a dream I think. I think girls wish for “Story like a Cinderella” at least ones. I like scene that Mr.Carrisford gave the present secretly to Sara. This scene is like a magic, I like the best.

Shopping

I went to go shopping today with my boyfriend. I bought nothing, but I went to the book store. I find the book about spa at Kyushu. I want to go there. But we ride motorbike. He said if he will have a driving license, we can go to there. Surely, I do not want to feel cold after a spa.

Movie Review3#Cars

This is the movie was presented by Disney PIXER 2006. The main characters are cars. Human is not appear. The cars are personified in the movie. The story was unfolded at Route 66, Radiator Springs, America.
Lightning McQueen is a rookie of the racing. He has glittering red body, stickers of yellow zigzag line like “lightning”, and No. 95. “I am fast. I will be able to win sure” he said to him self in his trailer before starting the race. It was all what he is the No.1 for him. So, he is arrogance and a lone wolf.
The Piston Cup Dinaco 400 is very famous racing in the world. If Lightning will be a winner, it is brilliant achievement. It is unparalleled in history because he is a newcomer. Lightning had 2 rivals, King and Chick Hicks.
King is a champion of Piston Cup; he has many trophies of Piston Cup. He has light blue body; light blue is color of Dinoco. Dinoco is very famous oil company in the world, and it is the sponsor of this race. King contracts with Dinoco, the president trust him. He express he will retire with this racing. He has wife, her name is Queen. Chick Hicks has green body, his bumper’s shape is like a mustache. He can not win with King, he is second always. He wants to win in the Piston Cup, and he wish contract with Dinoco instead of King.
The Piston Cup was very exciting race. There were King, Chick Hicks, and Lightning McQueen. Lightning was top of the race. Everybody believed his winning, and Lightning was same too. He was not in his pit although his pit team advised for him. In the front of goal, Lightning’s tires broke. Finally, Lightning, King, and Chick arrived at the same time. Then, they had to take part the final round of The Piston Cup Dinaco 400 at California.
Lightning took Mack the trailer, they run and run without sleeping. He wanted to arrive sooner than King and Chick. Mack was tired very much. At the night, Mack’s door of back opened by a trouble, Lightning was dropped the freeway. Lightning had not light because he is racing car. He tried to find Mack; he could not find him, and lost the way to California. He was thrown into confusion; he run in disorder. He broke the road because he went out of control. He arrived at “Radiator Springs”. It was deserted-looking town. There was not name of the town on a map.
In the courthouse, the people of Radiator Springs were angry to him. Doc Hudson the doctor and justice said “Go out from here now!” But Sally the lawyer and owner of motel said “Do not go out still you will mend the broken road finish”. Sally persuaded Doc and other people. Doc has deep blue body and his shape is Fabulous Hudson Hornet 1951, Sally is light blue body and her shape is Porsche 911 2002. Sally is very beautiful.

First, Lightning mended the road unwillingly. He wanted to go out from Radiator Springs, he mended very sloppy. Doc was amazed at the sight of bumpy road, he said, “Let’s race with me. If you will win, you can go out without mending the road” Lightning was turn on his engine with confidence of win. But the result was loss. Lightning could not curve on the sandy place. Doc said, “You are slovenly on the race and mend the road” Lightning was very vexing.
He knew the people’s kindness; he was changing little by little. He knew what friendship is important on life. Mater the old rusty tow car was kind to Lightning especially. His dream was what takes the helicopter. He has an arch look and cute character. One night, Lightning and mater enjoyed mischief. Mater said, “We are best friends, don't you?” He was the first best friend in Lightning’s life.
One day, Sally asked Lightning to driving. She said, “You need a rest rare” The viewing from Radiator Springs was very beautiful! And, Sally was very lovely in the beautiful sight. Lightning asked her, “Why are you here? Although you are very beautiful and intelligence” He wondered she is attached the countryside although she is flowery. He thought it is good that she works in the city. She said, “Because…I fell in love with this beautiful sight” And, unnoticed Lightning loved Sally.
Really, Doc was super racer; he has many trophies of Piston Cup. Doc was famous racer in the world in the old time. Lightning knew the thing by chance. He wanted to teach how to race well. “You can run fast yet because you have many trophies of Piston Cup!” “Such things are mere ornaments” But Doc refused to take part in racing. Because he was retire by the cruel accident in the racing. Somehow he was cured, but he could not return to racing because there are new racers already. Doc tried to dislike racing because he want to forget the sad memory. It is reason he was prejudiced to Lightning. He did not see Lightning the racing car.
One morning, the road of Radiator Springs was mended finish. Luigi the Fiat500 and Guido the fork lift give tires to him. Ramone the Chevrolet Impala painted beautiful his body for racing. Lightning thought he want to give a reward to people of Radiator Springs. In the night, he was decorated the town with neon, it was like old time. Then, many reporters and cameramen came to Radiator Springs. “Are you McQueen!? Why are you here!!” Mac came to meet Lightning. “I’m sorry McQueen, let’s go to California!!”
In the stadium, there were many people to see the race. “I am fast. I will be able to win sure…..” Lightning tried to concentrate to the racing but he thought about Sally and Radiator Springs people. And, Lightning had not pit team. The racer can not win without trustful pit team. “McQueen!” There were people of Radiator Springs in the pit. There was Doc too, and he gave advice through the microphone. Chick’s pit team laughed to McQueen’s pit team because there was only fork lift, Guido. But Guido changed McQueen’s tires very fast. It was fastest in other pit team.
In front of goal, Lightning was top. Then, King was in accident, he could not move. Lightning went to help King. Chick was winning. “…Why you did not goal?” King said so. Lightning was smile, “My trustful racer said, such thing is mere ornament”

This is very exciting movie. There were many famous people in the movie. Mater is Tomomitsu Yamaguchi and Luigi is Panzetta Girolamo. Their voices are very comical. I think the producer and movie creators were very persevere. The characters are elaborate designs I think.
We can learn importance of friendship when watch the movie.
