Movie Review#OCEANS

I watched OCEANS at the movie theater. It is the documentary movie about the sea. The navigator is Rie Miyazawa. She is the famous actress in Japan.

“What is sea?” A boy asked so to an old man. He could not answer. The story was started by this question. Can you answer? There are many fishes and marine animals in this movie. These are our friends because we live in the earth with each other.
Human killed many marine animals. We should stop the excessive hunting.

We can learn about life of the earth I think.
I recommend you this movie! I think you should watch the movie at the theater. I guess you can feel like you are in the sea.

Movie Review#The Notebook

This movie was filmed America, 2004. This is love story. This is a novel by Nicholas Charles Sparks originally. I like this movie when I watched it. I will write about this story and my review.

The old man read a diary to the old woman. It was real love story of writer. She was in sick, and she grew senile. He loved her very much, but it was secret.
In a festival in Seabrook Island, South Carolina, Noah Calhoun met a very beautiful　girl. Her name was Allie Hamilton. She was born rich. Noah said love to Allie, but she refused his love firstly but she was fell in love with Noah unnoticed. This love was a first love of Allie. Noah and Allie loved each other very much, and they were together whenever. One day, they did not back to home too late. Allie’s parents were worried so much; they looked for her with a search party. Her parents banned Allie to meet with Noah. And Allie had to go to a faraway university. Allie cried because she loved Noah. It was same Noah. But she leave the town, they could not meet for long time.
Noah entered an army to fight in World War Ⅱ. Allie was a volunteer nurse after her graduation. Noah lost his best friends in the war, and he returned to home. Lon Hammond the soldier was cured by Allie in a hospital. He loved her, and he want to marry with her. His home is rich and he was a lawyer. Allie’s parents agreed with their marriage, but Allie was not happy because there was Noah in her mind. Noah made a home for living with Allie. He believed he could meet and love with Allie again. They were met again, but she came to Noah to say a report of her marriage. But they loved each other again like some years ago. Allie was troubled with 2 men so much. But she chose Noah. They married finally.
That is all of writing on the notebook. So, the old woman was Allie, and old man was Noah. But Allie could not remember Noah. They were in a hospital, they died with each. The just before their death, Allie remembered Noah.

I t is very sad and sweet story I think. I think Japanese can watch easily this movie because I could feel sympathy on the Allie’s or Noah’s mind.
I want to visit to Noah’s new home. It was very cute house, and the home had his heart to love to Allie.

chocolate!

I researched about chocolates.

Chocolate is made from cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, and so on. First, Chocolate was very bitter drink long ago. English made sweet chocolate.

I like chocolate, but I like only sweet chocolate. It is not sweet in the kind of chocolates.

This is the kind of chocolate in Japan. I lined in bitter order.

I think it is the best to eat chocolate with coffee. I could relax when I eat these.

Valentine’s Day

In Japan, Valentine’s Day is a day which girls gives chocolates and says love to boys. It is a custom only Japan. I think I will write about Valentine’s Day.


The origin of Valentine’s Day was Juno’s birthday in Rome. Juno is the queen of gods and goddess and she is a goddess of marriage and home on Roman myth. The next day was the festival of harvest. In the festival, men draw lots. The lot was written names of women. They should be with each other during the festival. The couples fell in love almost. The emperor Marcus Aurelius Claudius Ⅱ banned marriages of soldiers because if they leave their lovers in the country, their fighting spirits were failing down. Valentinus the priest allowed their marriage secretly. The priest was executed by the emperor at Feb. 14. It is reason that the Valentine’s Day is called “Lover’s Day”

In America, people give flower, cake, or card to own sweet hearts. It has no relation with sex. There is not White Day like Japan. Chocolates are bought for presents at Feb. 14. This custom came in Japan.

In time of before World War Ⅱ, Valentine’s Day was came in Japan by foreign people. Confectionery companies speeded the custom for sales result. Ordinary, women give some chocolate or present to men in Japanese Valentine’s Day. It is unique what women say love to men with a chocolate in Japan. In other countries, the sender is men almost.

My campus life 2006-2010

I attended to KGU for 4 years. I will try to remember these 4 years for I will be able to know things what I could study in my university.

First, I will write things when I was a freshman. I felt a fresh atmosphere when I was at front of the prefectural theater. I was surprised there were many boys because I attended to a girl’s high school. I was wearing suit first time. The entering ceremony was very large scale I thought. I arrived to there a little late; I did not watch the performance of orchestra. I entered this orchestra club but I did not know about the club when this time. There were really many people in the prefectural theater! After the ceremony, I went to class room at building 4 to listen to the orienteering. The professor said “please make a note…” but I have not a pen. I asked to a girl which sitting next to me “Would you lend me your pen?” She said honestly, “Yes, here you are” She is my friend whom I made it first time in KGU. The freshmen should to show orienteering of circle activity. The orienteering was opened at front of the buildings at KGU. I went to go there followed the rule because we could not back home without entering some club. We could get a yellow ribbon when we decided to enter some club. I entered the association of Lacrosse. Lacrosse is a one of the ball games, using a stick fitting up a net on the tip and little gummy ball. This is not diffusion in Japan; I want to do this sport at least once. I went to cherry-blossom viewing with members of Lacrosse team that night. It was not enjoyable for me because I felt the party was very terrible. And I knew the club did not play lacrosse after I entered this club! I thought it is not having meant to belong to Association of Lacrosse. The activities were playing some sports or the drinking party. I did not want to do mean fewer things. There are many playing circles in KGU. I did not want to do activity only making friends, I wanted some skill at the circle activity, and sure I want friends on the activities. I retired the association of lacrosse soon I knew the import of activities. I thought I wanted to play some music. I had experiences playing the clarinet and piano when I was a junior high school. I thought I went to make a study some music clubs. I want to play the flute. This was my hope since I was a student of junior high. I could not play the flute because I could not win the scramble. The flute was very popular for girls. I visited to practice place of the orchestra club because my 2 friends belonging the club. There were 3 people in the part of flute. The head of club played the flute. She said, “We need you to our club, but we have not a vacancy in flute part. Please think again about you will play the instrument?” There were 2 clubs what I might play the flute. These are the orchestra club and Latin mood music association. I had not my flute, and I should buy it for I belong to Latin mood music association. The head of orchestra club said “We need strings instruments players really! Do you dislike these?” I said “…I want to play woodwinds. Can I play the oboe?” The oboe part had not member at the time. If I was in the oboe part, I could not learn the skills. I was sorry but there was a man playing the contrabass in the room. The contrabass part had not freshman. The man was very kind and he said charm of the contrabass. I thought he love the instrument, I want to be able to love own instrument like him. I decided I started to play the contrabass. This is story of my encounter with the contrabass. I had 13 friends whose same yeas old with me at orchestra activities. I like the contrabass sure, and now, I think my choice was not wrong. Well, I had many lectures of university. I had 4 periods in a day on average. It was ordinary for every freshman. I majored in Spanish for the second language. I could not understand the difference with English. For example, there are sentences without subject words. I try to get up in the lecture, but I slept in the lecture of Physics or Biology often. I was bad at the science. It is not changed now. I could enjoy the campus life. Maybe I could spend the time meaningful the best in 4 years. I had many friends; and my first love in this year. I could enjoy to study, work, play the contrabass, and love.

Next, I will write about what I was a sophomore grade. The starting of this year was our performance at the entering ceremony. There were many freshmen at the prefectural theater. I saw the sight feeling a longing for. I had my first junior of orchestra club. I could have a junior in the contrabass part. I was glad to meet with him. He is the head of our club now. I was a librarian at our orchestra in this year. I managed our scores and instruments. I was happy to take part in management of the orchestra although I was a sophomore student. I did the club activities very well, and I neglected the lectures. Well, I had to play the contrabass on the top of contrabass part although I was a sophomore because my senior retired our club. It was very suddenly, I could not play the contrabass well yet, I was surprised at the fact. I try to play my best. I had to play all music of the regular concert in this year of necessity. I had mental anguish of sense of responsibility because I had to connect to the support players. It was very important work, and the seniors should do this works. I was very uneasiness whether I did a failure for them but they said “Do not worry! We will support you on the skills of playing surely!” I was helped from mental anguish by them. I could not play good performances on the regular concert stage I think, but I could get very high experiences of music in this year. I could have an enjoyable life in this year. I was pleasant my university life really, but I lost love with my first boyfriend in this year. I was very sad but I could be happy with my other friends. I thanked my friends because whenever they are my supporters. I could get my truth friends in this year.

Next, I will write about when I was a junior student. This year is very bad because our club could not do any activities during 1 year. I was despaired because I could be a liaison inspector of our club in this year. My works were having connections with outside orchestra groups smooth. So, I thanked to support players very much before the year, I wanted to contribute to our club on the aspect. We committed an offence. It was the reality that we should clean activities during this year. It was ordered by the student council group, I asked to be able to practice again and again. They allowed us to practice individual, well, one of us borrowed a practice room and we used it. I was grad to practice the contrabass. I belonged to another orchestra team. Then, I like “Aus der neuen Welt” of Antonín Leopold Dvořák. I thought I wanted to play this music at once during my campus life. I could play this music in another team; I invited from some my orchestra club’s members. Well, I majored in a seminar of Speech English. I was interested in the famous people’s charm to move audience. I studied about Bill Bradley’s speech of “Gun Control” I was a manager in this seminar. In spring semester, I wrote a report in Japanese about rhetorical techniques of Bradley’s speech. I fall semester, I wrote my conclusion to read his speech in English. I was very hard to write only 5 pages report. I think I was greener at English writing than now. Sure, I am not good at English, but I could not write only 5 pages. And, I tried to study harder than before this year. And I went to internship to a hotel. I studied how to work in hotels, and waiting on customers. I could good skills in there. I tried to do job-hunting positively from this year. In the last of this year, I had new boyfriend.

I am a senior. My campus life will be ended by my graduation. In this year, I belonged to the student council team “Cheering Party” I assisted to opening our school festival. I got up very early during the festival was opened; we should guard to save people in our university. Well, I was very hard to job-hunting. Now, in the entire world, we are in the dull business. There are 2 reasons why we can not find jobs. First, the workers do not retire the company because if they retire the work, they can not find a new work, or it will be difficultly. Second, companies do not want to employ many freshmen because companies can not pay salaries to their employees. These are the reasons of the difficulty of finding employment I think. I can not find my job yet. I think I should try to get my job never give up.

I think my campus life was good for me. I could get many things in KGU. I want to redo again if I can it.
I love my campus life! I with my junior spend weighty from now.

In German, Santa Claus is twins. The one is wearing read clothes and he has white mustache, and he give presents to children in the world. Another one is the villain, and tells children off. He is wearing the black clothes. This is like Namahage in Aomori’s custom in Japan.

Movie Review#6 [Whale Rider]

“In ancient, Paikea the brave man came from Hawaiki riding on a whale. Māori　is his descendant.” This is a legend of Māori. This is a movie about a girl of Māori and a male-dominated Māori society.

Paikea Apirana is an only granddaughter of Koro Apirana. Pikea had the same name with the traditional brave man. She was called “Pai”. Her mother and twin brother was died when she was born. Koro Apirana was the head of Māori. His son went out to German because he was grieved at the death of his wife and son. He should bring up his granddaughter with his wife. In this tribal society, it was a man only that was able to be the head of Māori and it was hereditary. Koro was not like Pai because she was a girl and she was his only descendant. But he loved Pai pure. But Pai lost heart because she was liked by her grandfather.

When Pai was 12 years old, her father came back to the hamlet. Koro hoped him to be the next head of Māori, but his son was not say “Yes”. Pai decided to go out from the hamlet with her father because she thought Koro thought distasteful for her. But she heard a voice of sea in a car on the road. She returned to her grandfather, but Koro was not changing his thinking. He thought it was sorrow that Pai was not a boy. Well, he opened the school for how to succeed the culture of Māori to only boys. He expected a boy who had character of the head appeared from the school. Pai could not attend to the school because she was a girl. But she was not give up. She learned the traditional songs, dancing, and military art” taiaha” secretly, and her uncle helped her. One day, Pai defeated with a boy who attended to the Koro’s school on a match of taiaha. Koro was angry to Pai very much what she came to the school and use taiaha.

Koro tested the boys. The test was for to be a head of Māori, boys should to pick up a rei puta the necklace of whale tooth in the sea. Koro hurled the rei puta, but the boys could not find it. Koro was sorry, and he was down with the sorrow.
Pai went to find the rei puta in the sea. But her grandmother stopped to give the rei pita to Koro, it was had by her grandmother. And, Pai wanted to get good relationship with Koro. She invited him to the school party; she thought to here her speech for her grandfather.

But, the many whales were on the shore when Pai read the speech. It is big incident. The people and Koro try to back whales to the sea, it was very difficult. When the people gave up trying so, Pai ridded on a whale. Then, the whale returned to the sea, and other whales follow with the whale which Pai ridded. In the time, Pai’s grandmother gave Koro the rei puta. Koro knew the all of things. Pai was helped uneventfully; the people cerebrated to birth of new head of Māori.

I have seen this movie 2 years ago. This movie is very good for education of different cultures understanding I think. I think we can not know about Māori without some Medias. I guess there are many male-dominated societies in the world yet like Māori. I want to go to New Zealand someday. I could enjoy watching this movie.

Movie Review#5 Mrs. Doubtfire

This is story of a strange old woman and man. Daniel Hillard was a second-rate actor. He had a wife, a son and 2 daughters. His wife is Miranda. She is a designer of interior. Their children are 14-year-old Lydia, 12-year-old Chris and 5-year-old Natalie.
The incident happened at Chris’s birthday. Daniel was fired from a job because he didn’t obey superior’s order. But he was not wrong; it was the result what he believed his justice. Daniel gave a birthday party for Chris. But giving a party was forbidden by Miranda because Chris could not get a good record. But Daniel thought he tidied the house still Miranda’s coming home. The party was very flamboyant. Miranda came back home early with a big decorated cake because her son’s birthday. The house was very dirty in confusion. She was surprised and angry. Daniel and Miranda quarreled about each bad point. Daniel could not endurance, he changed fob often. Miranda was pressed with business; she could not spend a time with family. Finally, they decided a divorce. Miranda had parental authority. Daniel could not meet his children without every Saturday. Daniel loved his children so much. There was a condition for he could meet his children freely. He should be a man whom had steady job
Daniel got a job and other home early. The job was sending out of film at TV studio. But he wanted to see his children very much, he got a strange idea. It is he went to the home as housekeeper. He was good at changing his voice because he was an actor. And, his older brother was make-up artist. He called Miranda and said, “I’m Mrs. Doubtfire. I want to be your housekeeper!” The disguise was perfection. Daniel learned cleaning, cooking, and Miranda’s real thinking during he worked as housekeeper. He was not any good man.
Miranda introduced a man for her children and Mrs. Doubtfire. The man is Stuart Dunmyer; her new boy friend. Daniel was very disagreeable because he loved Miranda still. Daniel got in the way of association of Miranda and Stuart. But, the in during, the disguise came to light for everyone. Miranda was very angry and hated Daniel. But Daniel was good father for her children. She didn’t want children felt sad any more. Daniel got a new big business. It was Mrs. Doubtfire’s educational TV program. He was loved by the TV station president. He could get income enough to live with his children.
They found a new method how to be happy their family. Miranda called a new housekeeper. It was Daniel. They did not stop divorce but it is the best they thought.
Mrs. Doubtfire said “There are many shape of family. If your parents are not live same home, the cause is not you. On occasion, it is good so”

The story is a comedy movie. The director made series of “Home Alone” I was surprised the skills of make-up. I thought the ending of this story is happy. But it was not ordinary happy ending. This movie was very nice. It is good for watching with family I think.

Book Review02-14#Anne Frank

This book is the life of Anne Frank. I guess almost people know about her in my class. She is a very famous Jew.
Anne was born 1929. She had an older sister, Margot. She was older 3 years than Anne. Her family had a terrible experience because they were Jews. In the age, there is Jew discrimination. Anne’s family was not exception. They were caught by the Nazis; they had to stay at a camp. There is very cruel surrounding. Anne and Margot killed by typhoid in the camp. Anne’s father could survive only in the family.
This historical fact is very brutality. Anne was very cute girl and popular in her school I heard. She wrote a diary, she call it “Kitty” It is the famous book “Anne’s Diary” I watched the movie of the book, and I read “Anne’ Diary” We should not do cruel discrimination like this again I think.

Book Review02-13#The hare and the Tortoise

This is very famous story in Japan. The hare’s name was Harry, and the tortoise’s name Tommy. They worked with each. Harry thought Tommy was so slowly, and looked down on a little. They decided take part in the race. Everyone believed the win of Harry. But, Harry slept on the way because he relaxes his guard. Tommy was running when Harry was sleeping. As a result, Tommy won the race.
I like this book because it is very cute illustration! I think we should not do neglect whenever. We should try to be good faith if nobody sees to us. And, we can get successes when we try to do our best I think.

The fox and the crow were knew the wise animal by people in the world. The fox was wiser than the crow in this book. The story was a battle of intelligence.
The starving fox wanted a cheese whom the crow. The fox thought he will get a cheese from the crow. The fox praised the crow’s feather. The crow felt good. The fox said “Can you sing too?” The crow sang, and fell the cheese into the fox’s mouth.
I think the good talk have a bad things. And, the crow is not pretty, and it can not sing beautiful voice. It is important what we know ourselves.

Book Review02-11The Sun and the Wind

The sun and the wind competed for victory. The condition was a man take off his coat. The wind tried to blow for a man. He thought he blow his coat off windy and windy. But a man felt cold, he was hiding in a house. The sun warmed him. Then, he took off his coat himself, the sun win the wind.
The sun and the wind were personified in the story. The sun was warm and kind, the wind was cold and cool. There are 2 quizzes in end of the book. This book was easy to read for me. I think it was enough too easy.

This is very cute story. The pancake was made by mom. She decided to make it for her family. They were starving. When she roast up the pancake, it runaway to outside their home! The pancake had mind. The family went after it. The dog, the rabbit, the duck, the cat, the goat, and the fox run after it but they could not catch it. Finally, the pancake was caught by a wise pig!
I like pancake. If my pancake will run away from me, I will feel sorry. But I want to be friends with it!

Book Review02-09＃The Little Mermaid

This story is very famous in the world. I think there is nothing the sad love story expects “The little mermaid” This story was filmed often.
The little mermaid fell in love. The man was the human and the prince. He fell into the sea by a storm, she helped him. But it is not allowed love. She wished to be a human. She could be it by magic but she can not say anything. It is what she can not say “I love you” to the prince. She could not be the prince’s girl. This book’s illustration is very beautiful. I could feel I was in the sea.
I think the prince is fool. I think he should remember a girl which helped his life. I know this is the original story, but I like the same name movie of Disney. It was happy ending.
